History of the World in 100 Objects
28th June 2010
The History of the World defined in 100 objects and they're all catalogued using System Simulation software!

A History of the World in a Hundred Objects is a unique partnership between the British Museum and BBC Radio 4. The project focuses on the things we have made, from a stone chopping tool to the mobile phone. BBC Radio 4 will broadcast 100 programmes over the course of 2010, written and narrated by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum. The programmes will chart two million years of human craftsmanship, from the earliest object in the collection to the one that best represents life in the 21st century.

The cataloging of all the objects in the British Museum's extensive collection is done using Merlin, a customized forerunner of System Simulation's widely used MUSIMS collections management product.

MUSIMS is now being replaced by our new cutting edge collections management product, MuseumIndex+, which forms part of our suite of next generation products. You can see information on the full suite of products here.
